The Internet will not go away anytime soon. And if you regularly read this blog, you have realized by now that the Internet has brought us together in ways we wouldn’t have imagined possible just a few years ago. So I take offense at the suggestion that “just because” these pictures were leaked on the Internet means that they are not credible. The irony.
Perhaps there is pessimism in the Philippines about the Internet since it is populated mostly by Filipino youth (I think) and is prone to mischief. However, mischief is not the fault of the medium. When more and more level-headed Filipinos use the Internet, the perception will change.
The Internet is the great equalizer in mass communications. In the U.S. it has brought many important issues to people’s consciousness which in the past would have been bypassed by traditional media. It can become a mob scene at times, but it doesn’t change the fact that the Internet is used by regular people like you and me — so why don’t we have credibility “just because” we are using the Internet? If I post a picture of me with Kelly Clarkson hindi na ‘yon totoo?
Are the baby-fat pictures of Angelica Panganiban fake? Or course not. I personally can’t stand the fact that she can lie to all of us with a straight face. So young and so corrupted. If you run your business based on lies (in this case her non-existent sexy body), it will catch up with you sooner or later.
P.S.: But I ask Angelica this — what’s wrong with your baby fat anyway? I personally like it. You should embrace your true self since this is the only one you’ve got. And that goes for everybody (haha) — ‘yung mga nagpapaputi with all these pathetic lotions, etc. — naku don’t get me started. Tingnan niyo si Charming — all she needed was talent and a great heart, and she made it.
