Usually, on Sunday I really avoid Pinoy Rickey, since every once in a while there are things posted in the comments that I don't want to know just yet. It just so happened that there were comments posted on the Sobrang OJ Pare post, and I was curious what people had to say about Ogie and Janno singing about Hope. Well, it turned out that the comment was a spoiler for the results of StarStruck. I was pissed. Not only was it a spoiler, it was also off-topic. And bad-trip talaga kasi spoilers like this are written in a way to inform me dahil wala pang napost dito sa blog.
We've had issues like this last year, but people were considerate. Up until the very end, kahit sobrang excited na ang mga tao that Marky Cielo won, no one wrote anything until I was able to watch it (12 hours delayed) or found out for myself in the news.
GMA PinoyTV's scheduling has been better over the past few months. Their live shows such as Eat Bulaga and StarStruck are now shown "almost live" -- about 2 hours delayed from its airing in Manila. Kaya minsan nakaka-tsamba ako ng maagang posting. Though it would be wonderful if we all watched it together, these delays are technical contraints I have to live with. So it's impossible to get the news here first on Pinoy Rickey kasi, I don't get it first anyway so what's the point. Habol na lang tayo sa ganda ng comments at interaction natin. This is also partly why I'm not that excited about blogging the telebabad shows frequently. Half of our readers (who are in the Philippines) would have no idea what episode I am talking about since its either 2, 3 or 4 weeks late. Resource na lang for episodes that you want to watch again -- such as in Bakekang, madami na daw scenes si Rainier. So aabangan ko yon -- which is still 2 weeks away.
ABS-CBN's schedule is not the better either, and there is no show that airs earlier than 8 hours. For example, the first showing of Maging Sino Ka Man is 5:50 PM ET -- that's currently 6:50 AM Manila Time. Yan na ang pinakamaaga. To top it off, Pinoy Big Brother is not aired on TFC, so napilitan akong bumili ng subscription sa ABS-CBN Now -- baka because of that I might be more up to date.
During the finale of Philippine Idol, ABC-5 had a live feed on the Internet. So for that, I was able to post results up to date. But during the season, I had to rely on someone texting me what happened.
So you must understand why I'm so pissed off because this blog is really not the place for up to the minute information. If I ever get news, I would just gather it from Inquirer, GMA News, ABS-CBN, and even other bloggers who are in Manila. I think people come here regularly because they like coming here (kahit Aljurian tayo for life, LOL).
Pero okay na ako ngayon. One of the things that keep me going with this blog is how understanding our readers are. Sometimes, it's not so obvious, so we probably need to say it: Please don't post spoilers because Rickey is in the U.S. For those who still think that I am doing this for money, Pinoy Rickey makes about $30-$50/month which is enough to pay for my DirecTV subscription and hosting. Apparently, I am a huge idiot at trying to make money off this blog, unlike the other heavy duty Pinoy showbiz bloggers like Retz, Starmometer and Manila Gay Guy who are all in the Philippines -- those guys make $50/day (I think). So why continue? Because I know that a lot of you rely on some stuff that I am able to give, and I really want to be around people who share my same interests. I never would have met the nice Rainier or Gerald fans if I wasn't blogging.
Everything is forgiven just don't do it again. O bukas na uli. Baka ma-inspire akong bigyan ng farewell posts sina Dex, Jan at Jesi.
